And welcome to a new year of music making! Have you made any New Year’s resolutions about more & better practice? If you have – and if you haven’t – you should try the Practice Quiz

Check out the musical jokes at Ha! Ha!

We’re currently working on this page. In the future, you’ll able to meet the members of the orchestra & read about their instruments, read musical jokes, do puzzles, enter competitions, and download pictures to colour in. We’ll be updating this page regularly so keep checking back to see what goodies are on offer!

You can read an interview with the fabulous pianist from our last concert, 12 year old, Sophia Li if you go to the drop down menu, Let’s Talk.

Sophia has also written a short essay called I Am A Lucky Child, which I’m sure you’ll enjoy.

One of our recent concerts included Midsummer Night’s Dream – music based on Shakespeare’s play in which humans come into contact with fairies. One of the humans (named Bottom) ends up with a donkey’s head!

We also played The Nutcracker Suite in which a little girl called Clara is given a nutcracker for Christmas. He takes her to far off lands where she meets a sugar plum fairy, soldier mice and sees dancing flowers.

Here are 2 pictures you can colour in:

Bottom and the Fairy

The Nutcracker

Some Musical Jokes

How do you get 2 piccolos to play in tune?
Shoot one of them!

What do a saxophone and a cricket ball have in common?
People cheer when you hit them with a bat!

How do you tell if a violin is out of tune?
The bow is moving!

Why couldn’t Beethoven find his teacher?
Because he was Haydn!

If you have any good jokes or any suggestions for what you’d like to see on this page email them to publicity@mosmanorchestra.org.auscript>
